Charlotte Link: Einsame Nacht (Lonely Night) – TV Series

Aerialworx were thrilled to team up with cinematographer Phillip Timme to film aerial footage to capture the dual character of Scarborough, a location that is at once sun-drenched and quietly suspenseful for the German TV adaptation of Charlotte Link’s Einsame Nacht (Lonely Night).

Using the DJI Mavic 3 Pro Cine alongside the agile DJI Mini 4 Pro, we swept over golden beaches, sparkling waters and the lively harbour under bright coastal sunlight, creating wide, cinematic establishers that celebrate the town’s inviting seaside charm. At the same time, we employed the Mavic 3 Pro Cine’s 70mm and 166mm lenses to craft tighter, compressed shots of Scarborough’s weathered streets, shadowed alleyways and cliffside overlooks, evoking a subtle sense of tension that mirrors the series’ thriller narrative. This interplay between luminous landscapes and hidden suspense helped set the tone for the two-part drama, immersing viewers in a world where sunny vistas conceal dark secrets as detective Kate Linville unravels a murder linked to a long-unsolved case.
