We firstly saw the Arri ALEXA Mini at the BVE Show in London back in 2015. At the time Arri were showing this new camera publicly for the first time. I can remember visiting the buzzing Arri stand and talking with Arri’s Michael Jonas and running through a full list of features – impressive was just one word that came to mind. Michael offered a great insight into some of the decisions Arri had made when designing this amazing camera and drones certainly weren’t at the bottom of the list. 

Up until then, Arri had no realistic offering for the drone market and we often resorted to filming with the RED’s and Sony’s which wasn’t always ideal when all the other cameras on set were Arri’s. Needless to say, this was a milestone moment as this camera ticked all the boxes for us as a professional drone filming company. It was a game changer, it fitted well with what out clients were asking for and it was the perfect companion to our heavy lift drone. 

That was back in 2015 and we’ve now been filming with our very own ALEXA Mini for almost two years and what an amazing two years it has been. We been involved with over twenty productions and working on a number of amazing projects ranging from commercials and dramas to documentaries and sporting events. Every time the ALEXA has performed and delivered flawlessly.
