The Walkers family ventured out that morning with their rucksacks, flasks and mobiles, but got lost, injured and it’s now getting dark. Temperatures at night can drop below zero!

The emergency services aren’t even aware that they’re lost and in need of assistance and even if they did, wouldn’t have any way to contact or locate them.

Cue, our Tethered Mobile Rebroadcasting (TEMOR) Solution. It can be easily carried in the back of any vehicle and deployed virtually anywhere with minimal training. Within 15 minutes, you have a military-grade 120m mobile tower providing mobile phone signal well beyond the horizon and the benefit is that it doesn’t require a pilot and can stay in the air for as long as required, providing the Walkers family with that much needed and life saving mobile network, not to mention the ability to broadcast their GPS location and seek emergency services help.

For complex areas, multiple TEMOR Solutions can be deployed and can be configured to create a mesh network with further advanced functionality.

In addition to this standard TEMOR functionality, each unit can optionally include a high intensity 360 degree strobe light, a FLIR / security camera which can provide a low latency HD high definition live video feed to a central control station on the ground, text messages can be sent to all mobile devices which are using the network and a bespoke application running on an iPhone or Android phone can be used to navigate to safety.

Our future and next generation TEMOR system also includes a remote deployment option whereby the TEMOR systems can be permanently located at fixed positions and stored in secure units and then deployed automatically when required via a LoRaWAN signal.

Here at Aerialworx, we’ve been using a number of different tethered systems for the past two years. Sometimes on film sets and other times for client projects. We’re now proud to announce the release of our new TEMOR advanced automated tether solution which addresses all the problems we encountered with all other tethers.

This latest state of the art tether solution enables us to operate a tether in inclement weather conditions, including high winds and rain. Operating at altitudes of up to 120 meters and carrying payloads up to 4kg,

This sophisticated high powered tethered system enables us to power our own bespoke heavy lift UAVs and other DJI drones through a very thin tethered cable and fly for very long extended periods of time. We can operate totally off-the-grid and self sufficient with our 4Kw high powered generator. We can even send video and data up and down the tether and perform on-the-fly processing on the ground if required.

Our record so far is 25 hours 3 minutes with a 500 gram payload, 7 hours 25 minutes carrying a lighting rig, 5 hours 30 minutes carrying a camera.
